Women’s liberation has certainly opened many doors of opportunities for the so called weaker sex. Of course, this term is no longer accepted since it is the very heart of the reason for the women’s liberation movement. And more than that, the female gender has proven its strength in every and all fields that men dominate. Be it the sciences, the arts, business, or anything in between, women has proven that their worth is as much as their male counterparts, sometimes even better. This has undoubtedly brought many good tidings for women all over the world. But there are also some down side to it, not all the effects are good. For one, women ceased to be seen as the weaker sex and with this came the demise of chivalry. It is very rare to see a man giving up his seat for a woman or him opening the door for her. Sure, these may be common courtesies, but because there was a time when even these nice gestures were viewed as condescending attitude, it is not as popular a practice today as it was before to be courteous to women. Also, women had to be masculine in many ways just to keep up with the capabilities of men. They started growing muscles so that they can compete physically with men, and they started using many things that are exclusive to men only. Take for example designer cufflinks, which used to be worn by men only. Thankfully there are pink cufflinks like the Ladies Pink Cufflinks that can still make a woman very feminine even when she is doing a man’s job.
