No matter how hard I tried my boyfriend would not look smart. He feels uncomfortable in shirts, He hates suits, some days it’s a struggle to get him to brush his hair! So when we were invited to a friend’s wedding I really was dreading having to turn up with him!

A few weeks before the wedding I brought up the subject of a shirt. This went down quite badly. I had to beg, nag and even bribe him to get him to agree and after two weeks of battering I finally got him to submit. He said that he felt all stiff and uncomfortable so I came up with an idea to help him feel a bit more at ease. He loves motorbikes and frequently watches them racing on a weekend so when I suggested these Fast Sport Bike cufflinks he willingly agreed.

We went to the wedding and after a while he relaxed and started enjoying himself. I think it helped that everyone else was wearing a shirt and tie too! Quite a few people commented on his cufflinks (my mom in particular) and that made him feel even more at ease because they were a talking point. Good thing I found a pair related to his hobbies and interests.

Now when he has to wear a shirt and tie he gets his cufflinks out and puts them on and you can tell the difference from how he used to be. I did mention to him that they made wedding cufflinks too but I don’t think he got the hint!
