Sensible Gifts for Sensitive Situations

Sometimes, giving gifts is not as easy as it sounds. Though the thought of giving usually uplifts someone, as the old reg cufflinksuk 746 Sensible Gifts for Sensitive Situationsadage says “it is better to give than to receive”, sometimes the logistics take away the joy. The simple task of choosing a gift may sometimes be too cumbersome. The obvious course for many is to look at the recipient’s hobbies and interests and find a gift that will relate to those. Now what does one do if the recipient is someone of another belief, another culture? Say a Filipino student giving a gift to a Thai classmate? Perhaps they were together in college and they are parting ways. It will not be as easy as when they come from the same land and the same religion. Thais have a different set of beliefs, culture, tradition – they even have a different form of government! – than a Filipino. Their hobbies and interests will certainly vary, and while any gift will be appreciated, it will be better to give one that will be useful for the one receiving the gift. One sensible gift will be the Buddhism Buddha cufflinks. Thais are very religious and it is even said that one of the things a foreigner can do to offend them is to not show respect for the Buddha or the Thai king. With these silver cufflinks, none of those can possibly happen. This particular gift evokes respect for tradition and for culture. It will certainly bring a smile into the recipient’s face, and the giver will receive a nice bow as a “thank you”.
