The Caped Crusader is not Superman, and that is why he is so popular today.  Since 1939, Batman has captured the imagination of fans and audiences around the world.  He’s had a storied history, one that goes through various phases of development.  Originally, Batman was a dark, hard-nosed detective that scared villains by dressing as a giant bat.  Then, over the years, as his villains grew more colorful, he became more and more colorful, finding a delightful and campy expression in the iconic Batman TV series starring Adam West.  This was back in the days that few ever took film and television seriously, going on with their own lives rather living vicariously through fictional characters.  He has since returned to his roots as a Dark Knight Detective, battling crime with his wits, his athleticism, and his amazing gadgets.  He is not Superman; we know that Batman is mortal, that he can be killed.  He is human, and this makes him more believable as a fictional character.  These Batman Cufflinks have no special abilities.  These novelty cufflinks won’t repel sharks or whales as other things could out of the old TV series, but they will offer a bit of delight and recognition to those who see it and know what Batman is all about.  And ultimately, in the real world, that means fun.  We enjoy Batman and other superheroes because they’re fun to follow.  Though silver cufflinks may not confer special powers such as the myriad of gadgets Batman has in that utility belt of his, they will add some levity and charm to your outfit, and make excellent gifts and collector’s items.
